The right diet for osteoarthritis

It has long been known that there is a close connection between health and nutrition. The development of many lifestyle diseases is facilitated by years of poor nutrition. Conversely, a balanced diet can protect the body from disease and alleviate or even completely eliminate existing health problems. Numerous patients suffering from osteoarthritis report a significant improvement in their condition by changing their eating habits – experiences that are confirmed by the latest findings in nutritional science. A balanced diet is important to ensure that the entire joint is well nourished. Your body needs vitamins, minerals, fiber, trace elements, phytochemicals, essential fatty acids, complex carbohydrates and high-quality protein. We generally recommend a wholesome, balanced mixed diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and moderate meat consumption. Cold-water fish and good vegetable oils (e.g. linseed oil) have a high omega 3 content. Eat in moderation. Every kilogram of excess body weight must be supported by your knee and hip joints. However, you should also avoid bland diets or malnutrition. In addition, natural, joint-active micronutrients, such as hyaluronic acid, green-lipped mussel and MSM, which are almost completely absent from our diet, have proven their worth. The indigenous people of New Zealand, the Maoris, for example, had amazingly good joint health even at an advanced age. As coastal dwellers, they often fed on green-lipped mussels, which contain a high proportion of glycosaminoglycans. The Eskimos also suffer much less frequently from joint diseases, which can be attributed to their high consumption of fish. If joint problems already exist, the joint cartilage has an increased need for micronutrients. This is why we have developed ArthroFill®, which provides your body with a targeted supply of important and natural joint nutrients. ArthroFill® combines 12 trace elements and vitamins that are important for joint function with a base of high-molecular hyaluronic acid, green-lipped mussel, glucosamine sulphate, L-methionine and MSM.
